Commercial Properties For Future Tycoons In Saint Lucia

Posted On Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Saint Lucia's strategic location makes it a Southern Caribbean business hub.

The number of businesses in the Caribbean has seen a steady increase in the past few years, but it may not be the usual suspects that are leading the trend. Traditional investment areas have included real estate, tourism and offshore financing, but organisations like the Caribbean Investment Network, an online portal for start-ups seeking investment, have matched entrepreneurs and investors in these industries as well as a wide range of other business sectors.

Many entrepreneurs based in the Caribbean are looking to expand or start new businesses in the wider region. Examples include local commercial and retail services in the Dominican Republic, agricultural projects in Jamaica and the grains, beverages and building material subsectors in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Local community enhancement and educational projects are also popular business models supported by those offering angel investment and international funding.

Finding the right real estate opportunity for entrepreneurial clients is the forte of  Donnelly John and Maria Buchner aBlueReefRealEstate.com, who are experts in matching commercial properties with businesses and always on the lookout for commercial buildings for sale and rent.

"Sometimes a commercial property seems purpose built for a client, and other times the client sees something unique in a location that suits them perfectly. Match-making properties with purchasers in the commercial sector can be a real adventure and we enjoy the challenge. There are also exciting opportunities with retailing developments and other amenities, as Saint Lucia's population of locals and visitors continues to increase and generate demand for such activities."

With an increasing number of daily flights from the USA and Canada, plus a growing schedule of cruise ship visits for at least half of the year, Saint Lucia's tourism product continues to grow and as it does, the commercial opprtunities for discerning clients increase exponentially, so why not talk to us at Blue Reef about your business dreams?

Blue Reef's Top Tips For Commercial Zones In Saint Lucia

1. Rodney Bay and Gros Islet: Mainly retailing, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities, privately owned or in industrial parks. Currently for sale or rent is a two storey office building close to the northern headquarters of Bank Of Saint Lucia in Massade. Single floors within commercial multi-storey buildings can be leased long term, such as the Mardini Building in Rodney Bay and there are multiple retail units in locations such as the Evergreen Building at Rodney Heights.

2. Castries and Suburbs: Finding commercial space to buy or rent is quite challenging in the island's busy capital, but it's worth keeping in touch with Blue Reef, who scout for hidden gems like this pair of small warehouses at City Gate on the outskirts. Within 15 minutes' drive is  Bois D'Orange, where there are a number of purpose built business parks and commercial buildings offering warehousing and retail space.

3. Vieux Fort: The island's southernmost town is the hub of commercial activity for residents of the wider countryside from Soufriere on the west coast to Dennery in the east. The Saint Lucia Freezone is located close to the air and sea ports, with tax free status for manufacturing and other business operations.
