Buying property in the Caribbean is a dream for many, and searching for the perfect piece of paradise can be the most enjoyable part of the process.

In Saint Lucia, we have breathtaking locations and beautiful properties of all sorts, so starting your search at the Blue Reef Real Estate website is a great way to go. We pride ourselves on providing detailed listings with excellent quality photos that capture the essence of each property, so  you can narrow down your choices and save time by visiting only those that tick all your requirement boxes.

Viewing is the next step and we'll coordinate everything at your convenience, so your time and energy can be saved for making the right decision and concluding the buying process. There are several steps to property ownership and Blue Reef will walk you through each one with Integrity, Reliability and Diligence.

But once you're the owner of that idyllic villa or classy condo, there's nothing more important than ensuring the best insurance for your investment.

Every year between June 1 and November 30 is the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which sees peak activity between August and October. The past few seasons have been challenging for some of our island sisters, like Dominica and Barbuda who felt the wrath of two separate hurricanes in September 2017.

While understanding the nature of the tropical cyclone season is important, preparing for it is a definite must, and that means property insurance.

Hurricanes can pose several major risks to your Caribbean home including wind, rain and storm surge and only some are covered by a standard home insurance policy. Blue Reef can provide referrals to several excellent insurers and their agents, who will assist our clients in protecting their investment from the costly expenses associated with property damage.

This season’s storm names are: Andrea, Barry, Chantal, Dorian, Erin, Fernand, Gabrielle, Humberto, Imelda, Jerry, Karen, Lorenzo, Melissa, Nestor, Olga, Pablo, Rebekah, Sebastien, Tanya, Van and Wendy.

Keeping an eye on approaching weather is always good advice, and the good news is that the 2019 season has been predicted as normal or even a little less busy than other years, which is reassuring for all of us at Blue Reef Real Estate.
